In Tanzania, adolescents and young people are recognized as a priority, that are central in the delivery of the Tanzania National Vision 2025 and in achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. AfriYAN Interventions are designed to solve social-economic challenges facing young people in Tanzania. Our programs are aligned with various ongoing National, Regional and International strategies on youth development such as African Youth Charter Article 16, World Program of Action for Youth, ICPD Plan of Action and Sustainable Development Goals Number Three, Four, Five and Eight, National Five Year Development Plan (FYDP III) 2021/2026, National Youth Development Policy, National Plan of Action to End Violence Against Women and Children (2016/2017 – 2021/2022 and National Accelerated Investment Agenda for Adolescents Health and Wellbeing (2021/22 – 2024/25).
The organization has been engaged in various intervention geared to address challenges facing young people, such as the Review of the National Youth Development Policy (2007), Development of the Accelerated Investment Agenda for Adolescents Health and Wellbeing (2021/22 – 2024/25), participating to the initial processes towards formulation of the National Youth Council in Mainland and Zanzibar, Promoting youth development agenda in different National and International forums and advocating for the leadership and participation of young people including adolescents and young women. The organization has been working with different stakeholders to implementing various successful programs that illustrate our ability to mobilize, educate and engage youth and to conduct advocacy on the issues that impact on young people’s lives.
