SEXUAL REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH (SRH) & HIV

Good sexual and reproductive health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being in all matters relating to the reproductive system. It implies that people are able to have a satisfying and safe sex life, the capability to reproduce, and the freedom to decide if, when, and how often to do so.

AfriYAN Tanzania is uniquely placed to create demand by increasing general awareness and access of friendly SRH information and services among young people in the broader local community through working closely with our existing youth networks/members organizations in these areas of SRH and HIV Self-Testing

AfriYAN would also like to commend the Government and Members of the House for the recent amendments to the HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control Act 2019, tabled in parliament under the Written Laws Miscellaneous Amendment Bill 2019, which lowers the age of consent for voluntary HIV testing to 15 years. These amendments will accelerate progress towards the Government’s vision of an HIV-free society in which new infections are halted and people living with HIV or affected by HIV and AIDS receive quality services and support as well as the UNAIDS 90-90-90 targets
